Work is separate from your job/career, and it's ok to establish an identity and belonging with others based on work.

Because, when we find pleasure within our work, we can witness how each project, each task, even (especially!) those that are challenging or difficult, can be done with purpose and engagement. And when we do this, we set that example for others too.

Work, a necessary part of life, contains the potential for both ecological and environmental responsibility, as well as for a sense of dignity. Finding pleasure in our work guides us in two ways:

1. It helps us recognize personal work that's inspiring, gratifying, and productive, and

2. it helps us humanize any workplace we find ourselves in.
